NAME: Named after owner Matt Dillow's brother Wayne.

BLEND: The wine is made predominantly from Hunter Valley Shiraz vintages of 2011 & 2014, blended with a small percentage of 2017 Hilltops Shiraz.

TASTING NOTES: Gartelmann Wayne's Tawny is a fortified wine, made with a nod to the famous Portuguese 'port' style. Three different vintages of Shiraz have been given years of maturation in oak, then blended to create depth and complexity. Our style relies less on overt sweetness and more on a refined tannic structure and balanced spirit integration.

FOOD MATCHING: Great with hard strong cheeses or equally pairable with dark chocolate desserts.

CELLARING: Drinking remarkably well for a young wine and will mature gracefully for twenty years or more.
