2023 Gartelmann Bianka's Sparkling Shiraz

NAME: Named after owner Matt Dillow’s youngest daughter Bianka.

TASTING NOTES: Gartelmann Sparkling Shiraz is our contribution to an iconic Australian wine style.  Rich Shiraz wine is given an extra dimension from secondary fermentation. A vibrant, regal, crimson red colour with a fine, delicate bubble. The nose evokes blackberries, with a lush palate of cherry ripe and fresh tobacco, accentuated by the underlying cassis notes. The mid-palate is tantalised by these delicious, whimsical flavours before they are stolen away in a clean, quick finish that impels another taste. This wine is best served well chilled before it is opened.

FOOD MATCHING: The perfect wine to accompany rich Christmas fare, Peking duck or chilli mud crab.

CELLARING: Drink now or cellar to 2027+.

*Note: Sparkling Shiraz can be extremely effervescent, please open with care.

Our recommendation is to chill the wine to temperatures below 3 degrees and open slowly by releasing the gas several times, before removing the cap.
